Hello Patriots,
Just a quick thought for you today:
This week I was looking over a few quotes by George Washington and was reminded of this one:
It is better to be alone than in bad company
This caused me a bit of reflection over the last few days.
Last week in our email we talked about the four things Patriots must be doing to fortify themselves - and one of those points was the need to strengthen ourselves.
As we look at personal development, one very important aspect is who we surround ourselves with.
And while being alone is not desirable, George Washington was correct that being in bad company is even more harmful for our progress.
No only should we avoid those who bring us down, but equal emphasis must be put into finding those who elevate us.
Both eliminating bad influences and building strong ones are key to our growth.
You have probably heard the quote, “we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.”
I believe this to be true.
I have noticed that when I spend my time with those who have big visions and dreams, I start to think bigger myself.
The challenge is that we get stuck in a rut and don’t realize how others are impacting us.
My challenge for you this week is to pay close attention to those around you.
Try to determine who is elevating you and who is bringing you down.
Find ways to surround yourself with the highest quality individuals you can.
For me, I have seen this to have a major impact on the progress I make.
Thanks for reading, Darron Rowley
