Thoughts on the 2020 Election

Hello Patriots,

Well, 2020 just keeps getting more interesting doesn't it?

It is hard to pinpoint the exact feeling I am having right now.

Skepticism.

Confusion.

Disappointment.

Frustration.

Anger.

Hope.

Patriotism.

It is strange to feel so many of these at the same time.

I am sure you can agree.

I don’t think this election fight is over – not by a long shot.

Unfortunately, this will likely drag on for months.

Out of all of these emotions, I want to lead with Patriotism.

After all, that is what this country was built upon.

Whether this election turns out the way we all hope, there is one thing that is undeniable, and it is this:

Patriotism is strong and is growing in our country.

We have seen a revival in the last few years unlike anything we have seen before.

Unfortunately, we have also seen the hatred increase incrementally among its foes.

Honestly, I expect that.

I have always taught my kids that good has its balance, and the key is to make sure you are on the right side of things.

I believe with every fiber of my being that those who love Freedom are on the right side of history.

After all, this country was founded on the idea that Freedom was a gift from God.

And how can you go wrong fighting for something He has given freely.

I have zero doubt that that is true.

And when you fight for a God given right, you are entitled to his providence.

This was true the day that George Washington crossed the Delaware – and it is true today.

Does that mean it will always turn out like we want?

No.

Does that mean it will sometimes turn out like we want?

Yes!

I am unsure which category last week’s events falls into.

I am hopeful that the truth will prevail.

But what I do know, is that when we as individual patriots keep fighting for those gifts from our Maker, we will come out victorious.

If you doubt that I invite you to study the Revolutionary War.

Winning our independence was long shot to say the least.

But Providence Prevailed.

The next emotion I want to discuss is Skepticism.

If there is anything that I have learned over the last year is how important it is to learn how to recognize truth for yourself.

Things cannot be taken at face value these days.

We have to weigh all of the information we receive through a moral lens.

Do these things make sense?

Does it align with logic?

Is this trying to cause me to live in fear?

Does this align with my morals?

All of these questions have helped me make better decisions and live with less fear.

We now live in an age where every piece of information has an agenda.

And it feels as if very little of it can be trusted.

I think we are all feeling a fair amount of skepticism.

We have been lied to about aspects of the virus.

We are likely being lied to about election results.

There is very little transparency.

But there is also a lot of truth out there.

It is imperative we learn how to decipher between truth and error.

And once we find it, we must hold steadfast to that truth.

And being able to do this comes down to the one thing we can control – and that is ourselves.

The last thing I want to talk about is resolve.

We are not a country of quiting.

That must not change now.

Freedom has always required a fight.

And by fight I don’t mean violence.

I mean standing for truth.

Taking a stand against forces of deceit.

Continuing to push forward the cause of patriotism.

Supporting those who are involved in the fight towards justice.

We cannot falter in the cause we believe so much in and just accept what we are told.

There is nothing wrong with standing when you see injustice – in fact it is required.

We can all do our part.

If you live in these states where things seem fishy, get involved.

If you aren’t, give support where you can.

We must all do our part – with a peaceful unwillingness to back down.

We have to hope that our court system will function as it is supposed to so justice can prevail.

Get out and show your patriotism, because as it gets harder, we will rely on seeing other being strong to keep us going.

In closing, we want to express appreciation to you.

You are a true patriot and that means a lot.

The one thing we can control is those things that are close to us.

Let’s focus on improving ourselves.

Strengthening our families.

Being a more compassionate and helpful part of our communities.

Align ourselves with God and be his humble followers.

And most importantly, stand for truth.

Be a better patriot every day by getting just a little bit better.

It’s those simple things that will make this country as a whole much stronger.

Thank you for all you do to make this Country Great!
