It is a quote from Thomas Jefferson:

“God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

God Given Liberties 

I worry that we discount just how powerful, just, all-knowing, and vitally important God is to our individual lives and the survival of our country.

It would benefit every one of us to turn ourselves directly to that God who is the source of all truth and goodness.
