To me, being a patriot means having a love for your country and its fellow citizens.

Admittedly, loving the fellow citizen part is not always easy – the past few months have definitely show us that.

The fact that there is so much division is proof that we have a lot of work to do.

But as patriots we have responsibilities.

We have to do our part to strengthen our country.

As I have posted about my gratitude, it has caused me to reflect on things in my life that I am grateful for.

It truly has been powerful for me emotionally and spiritually.

It has helped me to realize that we as Americans are more than just our politics.

It has helped me realize that life really is about helping and lifting others.

You are a true patriot and that means a lot.

The one thing we can control is those things that are close to us.

Let’s focus on improving ourselves.

Strengthening our families.

Being a more compassionate and helpful part of our communities.

Align ourselves with God and be his humble followers.

And most importantly, stand for truth.
